Families are guided in session to experience emotional engagement among family members and the loved one with ASD diagnosis. This is achieved by positively engaging through the facilitation of techniques based on collaboration, co-regulation partnerships and a variety of emotional development centered techniques. Some of the goals are to facilitate deeper bonding experiences between all family members, and to facilitate the co-engagement in empathy development and several other emotional experiences that are challenging for the family and the loved one with ASD. Other topics that may be discussed based on need are such as preparing to thrive though life skill building, social skill building, and emotion regulation and how the members of the family can help when involved in co-achieving. Other topics based on need and age appropriateness may include "Preparing to live on your own" and how families can be allies through the co-regulation partnerships and co-achieving process.
These are sessions for Couples in where one partners is HF ASD also referred as non-neurotypical with a neurotypical partner. The sessions will include relationship assessment from the Prepare/Enrich model of relationship coaching (see Services 1) and once areas of strength and areas of growth in each dimension are identified, an exploration of how the shortcomings are informed by the non-neurotypical (likely factual with minimal emotional) perspective as well as the neurotypical (Emotional with factual in the background) perspectives.
These sessions are primarily psycho educational and help explore where the couple has been stuck due to the differences in perspectives and discover options including co-regulation partnerships and other easy to implement skills that help achieve better understanding leading to a more Harmonized and potentially Vitalized Relationship!

*Issues associated with severe mental health diagnosis, including but not limited to substance abuse and addiction, self harm, harm to others and eating disorders, are typically not a good fit and may be a contraindication for life coaching. During the discovery session this will be explored. If a contraindication for life coaching services is identified we would recommend that mental health services are provided first. We will be glad to arrange for mental health therapy to prepare you for a successful life coaching experience. Based on your decision mental health services can be provided by Sandy Herek, Licensed Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy working for A Virtual Peace of Mind, LLC. and registered under direct supervision of Marvin Skinner, LPC. Or if you prefer a referral for mental health services can be forwarded to a practitioner of your choice. Ignite Best Practices, LLC. assumes no liability for any concerns associated with mental health services, whether provided by Sandy Herek through A Virtual Peace of Mind or any other mental health practitioner selected.
